7th International Seminar for the Integrated Development of the Railway System

REMED, at the Seventh International Seminar held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, had a historic participation through our General Director of Projects, who masterfully presented the Railway System Revitalization Project.

As part of the forthcoming Railway Interconnection between Mexico and Guatemala, aimed at developing rail mobility projects through freight transportation, this will mark an unprecedented milestone for Guatemala, positioning our country as the Hub of the Region. This will foster trade exchange and promote economic and social development, with a significant impact that will generate more job opportunities, increased income, and social improvements for our citizens.

REMED and SACMAG hold a key coordination meeting

As part of the preparations for the interconnection between Ciudad Tecún Umán (Guatemala) and Ciudad Hidalgo (Mexico), a strategic meeting was held with the Mexican company SACMAG, recognized for its extensive experience in supervising and engineering large-scale projects.

On October 9, 2025, REMED took a decisive step in its commitment to modernizing transportation in Guatemala by signing a financial mandate with UBS, one of the world’s most prestigious and stable banking institutions. The signing ceremony was led by Mr. Carlos Álvarez, President and CEO of REMED, and Eng. Juan Manuel de León, General Director of the project.
