REMED and SACMAG hold a key coordination meeting

REMED continues to advance its commitment to modernizing Guatemala's railway system. As part of the preparations for the interconnection between Ciudad Tecún Umán (Guatemala) and Ciudad Hidalgo (Mexico), a strategic meeting was held with the Mexican company SACMAG, recognized for its extensive experience in supervising and engineering large-scale projects.

The meeting was attended by Lic. Carlos Álvarez, President of REMED, and Ing. Juan Manuel de León, General Director of the project. Representing SACMAG were Dr. David Camacho and Ing. Antonio García, professionals with strong expertise in supervising railway infrastructure projects.

SACMAG is a Mexican company with over 60 years of experience in engineering, architecture, and project supervision. Its involvement in landmark projects such as the Tren Maya and the Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec positions it as one of the most recognized firms in Latin America in the field of engineering and technical consulting.

The meeting allowed progress on agreements for the supervision of work on the border interconnection segment, addressing technical, logistical, and binational coordination aspects. These discussions represent solid steps toward the project’s implementation and reinforce both parties’ commitment to ensuring high-quality, safe, and efficient processes.
