El 18 de noviembre, REMED participó en el foro “El papel del transporte ferroviario en el desarrollo”, realizado en el marco del 38° Congreso Anual de ALAMYS. Durante su intervención, el director general, Ing. Juan Manuel de León, destacó la necesidad de una integración ferroviaria regional y subrayó el potencial de Guatemala como plataforma estratégica para el desarrollo, la modernización del transporte y la sostenibilidad en Centroamérica.

REMED participó en el 38° Congreso Anual de ALAMYS en Lima, Perú, un espacio que reunió a líderes de la industria ferroviaria latinoamericana. El evento abordó innovación, sostenibilidad y adaptación al crecimiento urbano. Del 15 al 20 de noviembre del 2026, REMED representó a Guatemala, destacando el impacto de la reactivación ferroviaria en el desarrollo regional y el futuro de la movilidad urbana sostenible latinoamericana.

Durante el 38° Congreso Anual de ALAMYS, REMED se presentó oficialmente como nuevo miembro de esta prestigiosa asociación internacional del sector ferroviario. En el evento, la empresa destacó su trayectoria y presentó los avances de su proyecto de reactivación ferroviaria en Guatemala y su futura interconexión con México, reafirmando su compromiso con el desarrollo de un sistema ferroviario moderno, sostenible y orientado al crecimiento regional.

REMED continues to advance its commitment to modernizing Guatemala's railway system. As part of the preparations for the interconnection between Ciudad Tecún Umán (Guatemala) and Ciudad Hidalgo (Mexico), a strategic meeting was held with the Mexican company SACMAG, recognized for its extensive experience in supervising and engineering large-scale projects.

On October 9, 2025, REMED took a decisive step in its commitment to modernizing transportation in Guatemala by signing a financial mandate with UBS, one of the world’s most prestigious and stable banking institutions. The signing ceremony was led by Mr. Carlos Álvarez, President and CEO of REMED, and Eng. Juan Manuel de León, General Director of the project.

REMED held an event in Mazatenango to engage with local residents and strengthen community ties around the railway reactivation project.

REMED’s founder, Mr. Carlos Álvarez, presented the railway project connecting Guatemala with North America at the White House, highlighting its impact on regional development, foreign investment, and sustainable logistical integration.

Mexico’s President, Claudia Sheinbaum, announced the extension of the Interoceanic Train to Guatemala to promote regional development and address the root causes of migration with fairness and environmental responsibility.

Guatemala moves forward with REMED toward a bright future, connecting regions and creating opportunities through a transformative railway system.
