REMED

Key Meeting at the White House

We are proud to share that our founder, Lic. Carlos Álvarez, recently had the opportunity to hold a series of high-level meetings at the White House with key representatives of the United States government.

During these meetings, he presented the strategic vision for railway revitalization in Guatemala through REMED’s ambitious Railway Corridor project—an initiative designed to connect North America with Central America through modern, efficient, and sustainable infrastructure.

This project represents a landmark milestone for the region’s economic development, positioning Guatemala as a strategic logistics hub for continental connectivity. The initiative not only promises to boost trade and attract foreign investment, but also to strengthen regional security and foster deeper integration among the nations of the Americas.

Throughout the meetings, Lic. Álvarez shared his proposal with prominent figures from the political and business sectors of the United States, including:

  • Congressman August Pfluger, Chairman of the Republican Study Committee
  • Senator Rick Scott, Chairman of the Republican Steering Committee
  • Senator Ted Cruz, Chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee
  • Secretary Brooke Rollins, Secretary of Agriculture
  • Halley Borden, Special Assistant to the President & Director of Business Outreach
  • Kenneth “Ken” Jackson, Acting USAID Deputy for Management and Resources

These leaders expressed strong interest and enthusiasm for the potential of REMED’s Railway Corridor. The discussions focused on the positive impact this infrastructure will have in terms of regional competitiveness, sustainable development, capital attraction, and international cooperation.

At REMED, we reaffirm our commitment to continue working with vision and responsibility to build a more connected, prosperous, and secure future for all the peoples of the region.

The future of Central America runs on rails, and Guatemala is leading the way!

"I just came out of a productive meeting at the White House, and I’m excited to share my vision for REMED’s railway corridor in Guatemala, which will connect North America with Central America. This transformative project will drive economic growth, enhance regional connectivity, and strengthen national security! Let’s build a brighter future together!" he stated..
